Adidas Originals Men's Night Indigo Handball Spezial Shoes, IF7087
Adidas Originals Men's Night Indigo Handball Spezial Shoes, IF7087
The Handball Spezial arrives here in a deep Night Indigo suede with cream leather stripes and a darker gum sole that keeps the color palette grounded. Originally released in 1979 as an elite indoor handball shoe, the Spezial has become one of Adidas's cleanest retro terrace silhouettes — lower-profile than a Superstar, roomier than a Samba.
The upper combines soft suede panels with smooth leather detailing along the serrated 3-Stripes and heel tab. A T-toe overlay keeps the shape rooted in its indoor-sport origins, while the flat gum outsole stays close to the ground underfoot. Contrast stitching and gold Spezial lettering give this pair the worn-in vintage look that makes navy terrace shoes easy to wear without feeling flat.
If you're deciding between this and the Samba, the Handball Spezial is the noticeably roomier option. The thinner tongue and softer suede upper feel less rigid out of the box, while the Samba stays narrower and more structured.
The navy-and-cream colorway works naturally with faded denim, olive fatigue pants, or grey sweats. Darker gum soles also wear in cleanly over time compared to lighter gum pairs.
